Fergus Falls Fish and Game Club
The West Otter Tail SWCD honors the Fergus Falls Fish and Game Club. The organization was formed on March, 9 1920 by eight men and women and currently has 130 members. In 2001 the club received the MN DNR golden 50 award, which recognizes the top 50 organizations that worked to promote acquisitions of wildlife management areas.
The Fergus Falls Fish and Game club owns and manages a total of 1117 public accessible acres throughout Otter Tail County that have been placed into Federal and State conservation programs. One notable parcel owned by the club is the One Mile Lake Nature Area which covers 150+ acres located inside the city limits of Fergus Falls and provides a natural landscape including native prairie, wetlands and an extensive observation walking trail.
